Donald "Donny" Givorns

     Mr. Donald “Donny” Givorns, a beloved father, husband, and son, passed away on May 17th, 2023 at the age of 47. He was born on September 11th, 1975, in Langdale, Alabama.

     Donny is survived by his wife, Cindy Givorns; children, Tarryn Givorns Pritchard (Paul), Heather Slaughter (Steven), and Austin Hudmon (Renee); mother, Linda Givorns Kelley (Tommy Starling); grandson, John Christopher Hudmon; siblings, Missy McCall and Julie Kerr; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; his beloved dog, Cookie.

     He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Duane Givorns; grandparents, Edna Willodean Blankenship and Tony and Voncile Beck; mother-in-law, Birdie Stodghill.

     Those who knew Donny would describe him as kind, hardworking, and full of life. He loved his family and his friends dearly. He had a special bond with his grandson John. He enjoyed throwing horseshoes, cutting grass, and cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He always had to be the funniest one in the room and he definitely knew how to put a smile on someone’s face. He was a member of Faith Evangelistic Church. He loved grilling as was known to his family and friends as the “Grill Master”.  He also loved to go deer hunting.

     Funeral services for Donny will be held on Sunday, May 21st, 2023 at 2:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Johnson Memorial Gardens in Valley. The Reverend James Clark will officiate. Donny's family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
