Donna Jean Franks, known fondly as Donna to her friends and family, left this world to start her new journey on September 29th, 2024, at the age of 69. A lifelong resident of Alabama, Donna was born on March 25, 1955, in Tallassee and took her final breath in Opelika, surrounded by the warmth of her loving family.
Donna was a source of love and kindness, always putting her family at the forefront of her life. She dedicated her days to creating a warm and nurturing home, cherishing her role as a homemaker with every fiber of her being. Her hands, always busy with love, crafted beautiful pieces through sewing and crocheting, each stitch a testament to her care and attention to detail.
Her legacy of love is carried on by her son, Shane Franks; her daughter, Tammy Oliver, married to Katelyn; her cherished grandchildren Cade Franks, Chance Franks, Brayden Tapley, Paxton Franks, Skye Vallia, Madison Tapley, Tyle Tapley, and Coleman Oliver; her sister, Wanda Newton, along with her husband Andy; and her caring sister-in-law, Teresa Haugh, with her husband Tim. Many nieces and nephews also treasure fond memories of Donna's thoughtful nature.
Donna is now reunited with her beloved husband, Tony Franks; her father, Donald Hoyle; her mother, Genette Coker; and her caring in-laws, Jackie and Orvel Franks, who had preceded her in death.
In every remembered smile, gentle touch, and word of encouragement, Donna's loving, kind, and thoughtful spirit will forever be felt. She was a simple yet profound touchstone in the lives of all who had the privilege to know her, leaving behind a tapestry of love and memories that will be deeply missed and eternally cherished.
