Edward Albert Ussery, Jr., born, February 20, 1951. A friendly and faith-filled man, passed away on January 31, 2025, in Lanett, Alabama, surrounded by the love of his family who cherished him dearly.
Born on February 20, 1951, in LaGrange, Georgia, Edward's A proud holder of an Associate's degree in finance, Edward's professional path was characterized by his dedication and steadfast work ethic. He found a spiritual home at Plant City Baptist Church, where he was a devoted member, living a life reflective of his strong beliefs and loving nature. Edward’s passions were as broad and endearing as his smile.
He reveled in watching Westerns starring John Wayne, chuckled at episodes of MASH and The Andy Griffith Show, and was an unwavering fan of Alabama football. However, nothing captured his heart quite like the joy of playing pickleball and ping pong, or the thrill of watching WWE. His warm spirit extended to a special fondness for penguins, and his strength was rooted in his church and faith.
Most of all, Edward took great pride in his beloved family, including his daughters Samantha McCann, Katherine Tabitha Bowlin and husband, Amanda Botts and husband, Sabrina Ussery and wife, Elizabeth Ussery and fiancé; his nephew Brandon Ussery; his adoring seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Each member of his cherished family benefited from his love and wisdom.
Edward is preceded in death by, his brother, David Ussery. Edward's life was an embodiment of love, devotion, and kindness. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him, as a testament to a life well-lived and a man greatly loved.
A memorial Service will be held, Friday, February 7, 2025, at 4:30 P.M. (EST) from Plant City Baptist Church, Lanett, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Plant City Baptist Church Youth Group.
