Era Elizabeth Johnson, known to family and friends as Elizabeth, passed away on April 1, 2026, in Lanett, Alabama, at the age of 85.
She was born on April 14, 1940, in Seale, Alabama, and lived a life marked by love, kindness, and devotion to those around her. Elizabeth carried herself with quiet strength and a gentle spirit, and she touched the lives of many through her warm presence and caring heart. Those who knew her will remember her as a loving woman who valued family, faith, and the simple blessings of everyday life.
Elizabeth was a devoted wife to her husband, Jerry Lee Johnson, and a loving mother to her sons, Vince Johnson and his wife Dottie, Scotty Johnson, and Chris Johnson. She took great pride in her family and found joy in the bonds they shared. Her love extended beyond her immediate household, and she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, who brought happiness and light to her later years.
She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Thrower, and her brothers, Lanell Moore, Grady Moore, and James Moore. Elizabeth shared a close connection with her family throughout her life, and those relationships were an important part of who she was. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her and sharing in her life.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Carrie Moore, and by her brothers, Bruce Moore, Pete Moore, and Harold Moore. Their memory remained close to her heart, and she carried the legacy of her family with dignity and grace throughout her life.
A woman of enduring kindness, Elizabeth will be remembered for the love she gave so freely and the steady example she set for others. She had a way of making people feel welcome and cared for, and her compassionate nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her life was a reflection of devotion, humility, and the enduring strength of family ties.
Though her passing leaves a deep sorrow, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and all who loved her. Elizabeth’s life was a blessing, and her legacy of love and kindness will remain a source of comfort and inspiration for years to come.
