Frances Lavora Thomaston Crawley Obituary

Mrs. Frances Lavora Thomaston Crawley, age 80, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2020 at the Piedmont Columbus Regional Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia. She was born on April 1st, 1940 in Plant City, Alabama.

Mrs. Crawley is survived by her children, Jeff (Karen) Crawley of Valley, Alabama, Kevin (Darlene) Crawley of Lanett, Alabama, and Caron Lacy of Valley, Alabama; her grandchildren, Rachel (M.J.) Jones, Kaylin (James Williamson) Thomas, Karissa (Eric) Betts, Brandi (Shane) Sargent, Tiffany Thompson, Casey Crawley, Dusty (Jennifer) Crawley, Marissa (Jay) Siggers, Mason Crawley, and Jonathan (Angela) Lacy, Jr.; fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Woodson Crawley; her son, Tracy Crawley; and her brother, William Lomas Thomaston, Jr.

Mrs. Crawley was born in 1940 in the house her father built. She lived her whole life in Plant City in that same house. She and Mr. Crawley also raised their family in that same house. Mom, Momma, Maw Maw...she was known by all of those terms very lovingly by her family and sometimes even strangers alike. Always the voice of reason and the rock in our family. She made an impression on everyone she met. The love she had for her family also made an impact in the lives of anyone with whom she came into contact. Family meant everything to her. She fostered that love of family in all of us lucky enough to call her Mom or Maw Maw. Sometimes that love just spilled over to others around us who witnessed our love for each other as a family. She never met a stranger and never missed an opportunity to brag about her family or to show her faith in God. She would always put others first no matter what she might have been going through. The void she leaves behind can never be filled but the love and life lessons she bestowed upon her family will forever be passed on to generations to come. Our love for her will never end. Through that love she will live forever in our hearts and lives. While we mourn her death, even more so we celebrate her life she lived. Forever missed...always loved.

The family would also like to recognize the exceptional attentiveness and loving care that Mrs. Crawley received from Darlene Crawley and Casey Crawley.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 26th, 2020 at 2:00 PM (EST) at the graveside in Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett. Pastor Joel Scott will officiate. The family will receive friends in the cemetery following the service.
