Frances Lenora Lowery Wood

     Frances Lenora Lowery Wood, 90 years old, of Huguley, Alabama passed away Monday, January 20th, 2025.

     She was born on October 20th, 1934, to Charlie and Virtie Brewer Lowery in Opelika, Alabama. She worked as a Manager at the Snack Bar at Roses in Lanett, Alabama. She was a homemaker, loved to work in the garden, and canning vegetables. She loved to travel and was in the group Destiny, selling the CDs. She was a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church for many years and currently a member at Midway Baptist Church.

     She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 73 years, Julian Wood; son, Johnny Wood, Sr.; daughter, Shirley Wood Smith; grandchildren, Pamela Smith and Steven Ray Wood; great grandchildren, Steven Watson and Gracie McClain; her brothers, Charles Lowery, Sammy Lowery, and Wayne Lowery.

     She is survived by her son, Terry Wood (Joyce); Godson, Gerald Lowery (Janice); daughter-in-law, Marie Wood; grandchildren, Johnny Wood, Jr. (Carrie), Misty Gibson (Ronald), Terry Wood, Jr. (Jetta), Lou Buckner (Jody), Amanda McClain (Stephen), Brent Wood (Melissa), and Chad Daniel (Ashley); 18 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mary J. Stevison (Jerry), Clifford Wood (Betty); sister-in-law, Jerri Wood; several nieces and nephews.

     Funeral services for Mrs. Wood will be held on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025, at 2:30 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Harmony Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Terry Wood and Mr. Terry Wood, Jr. will officiate. Mrs. Wood’s family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
