George Larry Cummings

Mr. George Larry Cummings, 71, a resident of West Point, GA passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at his residence. 

Mr. Cummings was born in Lanett, AL on June 27, 1949.  He was a graduate of Lanett High School and served in the United States Army and later retired from the Alabama National Guard as a Sargent First Class (E-7).  He also retired from the West Point, GA Police Department as a Lieutenant after 23 years of service. 

He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Self Cummings of Huntsville, AL; his children, Nicole Evelyn Cummings & Erica Danielle Cummings both of Stone Mountain, GA and their mother, Sharon Kay Wallace Cummings also of Stone Mountain; brother, Thomas Steve Cummings (Sue) of Huntsville, AL; two nephews, Joshua Craig Cummings (Katie) & Clayton Paul Cummings (Ellen) both of Metairie, LA. 

He was preceded in death by his father, George Thomas Cummings, Sr., infant brother, George Thomas Cummings, Jr. and an infant daughter, Karen Michelle Cummings.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Veterans Association.

A memorial service will be announced later by the family and Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home.
