Herman Mark "Pop" Daniel

     Mr. Herman Mark “Pop” Daniel, age 81, of Five Points, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, January 11th, 2022 in Opelika, Alabama.

     Mr. Daniel was born on July 13th, 1940 in Troup County, Georgia to the late Amos and Mary Daniel. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Fredonia, Alabama. He was a very independent man who enjoyed watching golf, cooking, and doing scratch off tickets. He loved his children.

     Mr. Daniel is survived by his four children, Earl Daniel (Wendy), Ross Daniel (Debbie), Dennis Daniel (Penney) and Marlene Sullivan (Sully); thirteen grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren; brother, Frank Daniel (Dell); numerous nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Jack, Sam, Bill, and Martha, and Walter Daniel (Colonel).

     A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 16th, 2022 at 2:00 PM (EST) at New Hope Baptist Church in Fredonia. Mr. Daniel’s family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM (EST) until the service hour at the church. The Reverend Rusty Letson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 3050 County Road 263, Five Points, AL 36855 in memory of Mr. Daniel.
