Jacqueline "Jackie" Blair Obituary

Jacqueline "Jackie" Blair, a cherished matriarch and shining example of love and kindness, passed away peacefully at her home in Huguley, Alabama, on February 26, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on February 11, 1939, in Ashland, Alabama, Jackie's life was a testament to the power of love, music, and faith.

Jackie was the beloved wife of Jack Blair, and together they built a life filled with laughter, music, and family. She was a devoted mother to her children, Sheree Gregory, Luann Heath, Jana Henderson (Ray), Jason Blair (Torrey), and Jamen Blair (Melissa). Jackie's legacy continued to flourish through her grandchildren, Brannon Hutchinson, Leisha Baldridge (Shawn), Amanda McDonald (Toby), Ashley Gregory, Brandon Heath (Laura), Jessica Matthews (Alex), Colby Blair (Breanna), Jordan Blair, Gavin Blair, McCarthy "Mac" Blair, Micah Blair, Cammon Ashley (Deonna), Cassi Gorman (Seth), Hunter Henderson, and Layton Henderson, as well as her sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Her life was further enriched by a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends who were like family to her.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Onnes "OG" Luker and Vera Luker; her siblings, Dorothy Daniels, Gerald Luker, and Sue Taylor; her son, Ricky Curtis; and her grandchildren, Brooks Heath and Tiffany Johnson; her beloved son-in-law, Richard Heath. Despite these losses, Jackie's unwavering spirit and love continued to inspire all who knew her.

A long-standing member of Huguley Baptist Church, Jackie's faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her musical talents were a gift to all, as she graced the church with her skills as a pianist, filling the sanctuary with the sounds of Southern gospel music she so dearly loved. Jackie's love for her husband, her family, and her church knew no bounds, and she dedicated her life to serving and cherishing each one.

Jackie's interests extended beyond her musical contributions. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards, activities that allowed her to share joyous moments with friends and loved ones. Her gentle nature and kind heart made every game a memorable experience for those who had the pleasure of her company.

As we say farewell to Jacqueline "Jackie" Blair, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy of love that will continue to resonate through the generations. Her spirit, encapsulated in the melodies of the hymns she played and the hearts of the family she adored, will forever be a guiding light for those she leaves behind.
