Jake Patrick Hill Obituary

Memorial services are pending and will be held at a later date for Jake Patrick Hill, 18, from Lanett, AL who passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 in Greenville, GA.

Jake was born in Atlanta, GA on May 6, 2003. He grew up in West Point, GA and Lanett, AL. He is survived by his mother Lisa Davis and grandmother Tricia Smith, Lanett, AL. His niece Melanie Davis (Amanda and Derik Breaux) Hogansville, GA. His uncle Timothy White, Dallas, TX. His aunt and uncle Donna and Alvin Stephens, Williamson, GA and cousins Marcus White and Jonathan “JB” Merchant, Dahlonega, GA. His great-aunt Judy Capazzi, cousin James Capazzi, SC and great-great-aunt GiGi Stein, NY. Jake was preceded in death by his grandfather Michael Smith and his great-grandparents Elizabeth and George White.

Jake was a precious gift from God. He had Asperger’s Syndrome/Autism but was not defined by a label. He touched the life of everyone he met. Extremely intellectual, he read the dictionary for fun. He read Time, Sports Illustrated, Newsweek and car magazines cover-to-cover. Remembering and sharing all he read. He was passionate about NHL hockey, NY Rangers, Formula One Racing and Sebastian Vettel. He loved skateboarding, riding his bike, swimming in the pool, hockey and racing games. He learned how to play the keyboard by ear and enjoyed making his own music and videos. Jake fell in love with his second family, Dr. Krishna “Kris” Reddy, wife Usha, sons Venu and Ananth and their dog Simba. Before covid he walked with Usha and Simba almost daily. Simba decided he would only get in the van for Jake. He made sure he was there to help. He helped any neighbor when their pets were lost and searched until found. Last year on his own, he helped a horse that had gotten stuck in the fence. He cared about our community.

People say it takes a village to raise a child and it’s true. I want to thank my village, my community for being a part of Jake’s life. You watched him grow from a little boy trying to be invisible behind his mom and Granny to the young man that knew, talked and shared with everyone. Our local bank, hardware store, post office, utilities, pharmacies, small businesses, doctors, dentists, restaurants and our new Mayor Mr. Heard, his former school principal. Every person that came to our home to deliver, fix or service the house knew Jake and talked with him. Especially, Jerry Simpson, Beauregard, AL.

Jake changed our life for the better. He taught me patience, to never give up, showed me what mattered in life and the true meaning of love. To the moon and back, infinity and beyond, I’ll love you forever.
