James Brewer Obituary

James Edward Brewer, of Valley, known affectionately as Jamie to his friends and family, passed away on, February 18, 2025, at the age of 50 in Auburn, Alabama. Born on April 13, 1974, in Opelika, Alabama,

Jamie was a man of great character, known for his kindness, friendliness, and handy skills that could bring any project to life. Jamie became known for his ability to fix just about anything. His love for construction and helping others led him to a fulfilling career as a handyman, a trade that not only showcased his skills but also his generous spirit. He was a man who took great pride in his work.

Beyond his professional life, Jamie was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his loving wife, Dianne Barnes Brewer, and their children, Teri Brewer (Will) and Nicole Brewer. He was a cherished stepfather to Sean McGuire (Erin), Jameson McGuire, and Colin Peters. Jamie's joy was multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Ella, Emelia, Oliver, and Olive, and step-grandchildren, Anyssa, Dallas, and Jet, siblings, Christopher Brewer, Wayne Brewer, Christina Brewer, and Stephanie Brewer. numerous nieces, nephews, great uncles, aunts, and cousins, all of whom will miss his presence dearly. Jamie was preceded in death by his parents, James "Harold" Brewer and Cynthia "Cindy" Jane Hurst Brewer; his nephew, TJ Hall; his paternal grandparents, Vernon Brewer and Mattie Lee Brewer; his maternal grandparents, Melvin Hurst and Evelyn Hurst; and his loyal dog, Baxter "Baby Boy"

An avid fan of NASCAR and Alabama Football, Jamie's enthusiasm for his interests was infectious. He could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, sharing his passion with anyone who would listen. His love for the sport was only matched by the love he had for his family and friends.

As we say goodbye to James Edward Brewer, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and the simple joys of being together with those we care for. His memory will live on in the stories told, the projects completed, and the lives he touched. James's spirit, full of warmth and generosity, will continue to guide us, reminding us of the difference one kind and friendly soul can make in the world.

Jamie's family would like to extend a special thanks to friends and family members who went above and beyond to help with his needs, special requests, comfort. Uncle Tony Brewer, sister, Christina Brewer, niece, Brittany Simpson, nephew, Brad Simpson (Hannah), stepson, Sean McGuire (Erin), cousin, Steven Brewer (Ashley), cousin, Marsha Brewer Bond (Tim), Stephen and Amanda McClain, Terrye Brewer, Kelly Roberts, Teri Brewer and Will Jernigan.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 21, 2025, at Ridge Road Baptist Church at 3:30 P.M. (EST)

Intermet will follow at Farmville Cemetery. Visitation will be held, Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. (EST) at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home of Valley.
