James "Jim" Fullerton Obituary

James (“Jim”) Fullerton, 53, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at East Alabama Medical Center.

Jim was born on January 21, 1968 in Langdale, AL to the late James Thomas Fullerton and Sylvia Willis of Valley. Jim attended Valley High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Auburn University before working as a CPA for several accounting firms, ending his career as a Senior Partner at Ernst & Young. After retiring, Jim could most often be found in the woods on his property, on his boat on Lake Harding, or spending time with his one true love - his family.

Jim married his high school sweetheart, Karen Crowder, on August 3, 1985. Jim and Karen spent 35 wonderful years together raising their four girls. Jim was known for his sense of humor, sense of adventure, and unwavering loyalty to family and friends.

Jim is survived by his wife, Karen Crowder Fullerton, his daughters, Kristin Fullerton, Kelsey Fullerton Preston (Philip), Cara Fullerton, Claire Fullerton, and his grandchildren, Alden Preston and Ada Preston. He is also survived by his mother, Sylvia Fullerton, his sisters, Wendolyn Fullerton Smith (Russell), Lisa Fullerton Miller, niece, Brandi Amerine, and nephew, Zack McDonald.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, James Thomas Fullerton, his sister, Paige Fullerton, his paternal grandparents, William Alvie Fullerton and Mabel Williams Fullerton, and his maternal grandparents, Wendell Willis and Frances Rainey Willis.

Jim was a devoted husband, father, and son and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A visitation will be held at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home on Friday, March 19 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM EST for anyone wishing to pay respects and give condolences to the family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM EST on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Langdale Methodist Church.
