James M. Waldrep

     Mr. James M. Waldrep, age 75, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

     James was born on January 16th, 1948 in Randolph County, Alabama to the late J. W. and Mildred S. Waldrep. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed working in his garden and exploring back roads. He loved to travel with his wife, especially to Gulf Shores, Alabama.

     James is survived by his wife, Mona K. Waldrep; daughter, Wendy Goodwin (Phil); grandchildren, Carter and Charlie Goodwin; sister, Kathlyne Ward (Richard); brother, Jerry Waldrep (Jeanette); sister-in-law, Tona Hines (Roy); an aunt; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

     Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 18th, 2023 at 11:00 AM (EST) at Riverview Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pastor Lanny Sledge will officiate. James’ family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
