On Monday, June 14, 2021, James Ralph Smith, loving father of three children, passed away at age 91.

Ralph was born on November 28, 1929, in Lafayette, AL to Madison and Lois (Davis) Smith.

On March 8, 1949, he married Margie Rine Blackmon. They raised two sons, Madison and Oscar, and a daughter, Brenda.

Ralph had a passion for any kind of sport, especially the University of Alabama football and NASCAR racing.

Ralph was preceded in death by his father, Madison, his stepfather, Buck Abercrombie, his mother, Lois, his wife, Margie, his brothers, Roy, Wesley, Carl D, John Allen, and sisters, Mable Geneva Cole, and Ruth Allen.

He is survived by his sister, Rebecca Parmer, three children, Madison (Louise) Smith, Oscar (Carolyn) Smith, and Brenda Bates (Jason), 8 grandchildren, Tammy Stone, Ginger Walker, Diane Mitchell, Donna Hammond, Mandie Brooks, Joshua Smith, Daphanie Hurst, and Tracy Myers, 14 great grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 11:00A.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00A.M. EDT until the service hour.
