Janice Birchfield Smith

       Janice Birchfield Smith, 81, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at her residence.

     Mrs. Smith was born on August 6, 1941 to the late Roy Brannon Birchfield and Vera Elizabeth Sadler Birchfield in Chambers County, Alabama.  She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Nell Graven and Sandra Fox; and a grandson Joey Hester.

     Mrs. Smith was a wonderful, kind, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister.  In her children’s’ eyes, she was the most amazing mother ever made by God.  

     She loved to cook, she loved her flowers, the University of Alabama football, and the Atlanta Braves.

    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11:00A.M. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel.  Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00P.M. EST until 8:00P.M. EST.

     She is survived by her husband of 43 years Harvey Joe Smith; children, David Hadaway (DeeDee), Angie Guess (C.W.), Michael “Mickey” Hadaway, Keith Hadaway (Kim); stepsons, Kevin Smith, Keith Smith; sister, Joan Graham; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild.
