Mrs. Janice Crowder Poole, age 89, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on January 3rd, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 9th, 1936, in Langdale, Alabama to the late Herman and Florine Crowder.
Janice is survived by her children, Connie Poole, Shann Jones (David), Donna Ogle (Thomas), and Ken Poole (Nancy); seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; and brother, Wayne Crowder (Marilyn). She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Florine Crowder; her husband, Charles O. Poole; and sister, Marilyn Crowder.
Janice was a beacon of love and kindness, proving warmth and wisdom to all who knew her. She was a member of the Lanett Congregational Christian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a great cook and a big Auburn fan. Her laughter and joy will forever echo in our hearts, and her spirit will live on through the countless memories we cherish.
Funeral services for Janice will be held on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026, at 2:30 PM (EST) at the graveside in Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett, Alabama. Pastor Mark McCarty will officiate. Janice’s family will receive friends in the cemetery following the service.
