Janice Gail White Obituary

Janice Gail White, affectionately known as Gail to her loved ones and friends, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on January 26, 1941, Gail's life was marked by her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Gail was the cherished daughter of the late John Tom White and Kate Breedlove White. She was a loving sister to her late sister, Sara Lynn White Carter, and was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Bobby H. Carter. Her legacy continues through her adoring nephews and niece, Greg (Tammy) Carter, David (Theresa) Carter, and Gina (Stacey) Carter Cundiff, as well as her eleven great-nieces and nephews and twenty great-great-nieces and nephews. Gail's extended family and a multitude of friends will fondly remember her warmth and kindness.

Professionally, Gail dedicated many years of service as an administrative assistant with Valley Realty before retiring from Coldwell Banker. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to all who worked alongside her. Gail's colleagues will remember her as a pillar of professionalism and grace.

Gail's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a devout Christian, always placing the Lord first in everything she did. As a very active and devoted member of Langdale Congregational Christian Church, she shared her musical gifts as a member and director of the choir, uplifting many with her voice and leadership.

Her love for the arts extended beyond the church walls. Gail was a dedicated volunteer at the local community theater, where she contributed her time and talents to ensure the success of many productions. Her passion for music and performance was an inspiration to all who had the pleasure of working with her.

An avid gardener, Gail found solace and joy in caring for her plants and roses. Her rose garden was a testament to her patience and nurturing touch, and it served as a sanctuary where she spent countless hours cultivating beauty for her and others to enjoy.

Gail's enthusiasm for life was also evident in her love for Auburn University football. As a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she connected with others who shared her values of charity, truth, and loving-kindness.

Those who knew Gail would describe her as wise beyond her years, deeply faith-filled, and unfailingly gentle in her interactions. Her presence was a source of comfort and guidance to many, and her wise counsel will be dearly missed.

Gail's life was a beautiful tapestry of devotion to her faith, love for her family, and service to her community. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those she touched. As we bid farewell to Janice Gail White, we celebrate a life well-lived and a soul that has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on this world.
