Jeffrey Scott Hill, known affectionately as "Paw Paw" by those he cherished, embarked on his final journey on July 22nd, 2025, surrounded by the comforts of his residence. Born on a serene Valentine's Day in Lanett, Alabama in 1962, Scott lived a life that was as rich and warm as his Southern roots.
In his 63 years, Scott's gregarious nature and zest for life touched everyone he encountered. He will be lovingly remembered by his adoring daughters, Kristy and Keren Hill, and his playful grandchildren, Kaydence Myers, Jackson Wood, Hayden Myers, Blake Hill, and Brayden Myers. His legacy continued to blossom with the arrival of his great-grandson, Braxton Myers-Duffee, who added a new layer of joy to his life. Scott's siblings, Jennifer Smith with spouse Tommy, Dawn Kerr with Jonathan, Wendy Jernigan with Rick, Debra Cain with Chuck, and Randy Hill with Debie, along with brother Randy Brooks, will forever hold dear the memories of their brother's kind-hearted spirit. A constellation of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews also survives Scott, each one a testament to his deep-rooted familial bonds. His passing was preceded by that of his beloved parents and stepparents, Imo Jean and Eugene Hill, Thomas, and Jeanette Hill, as well as his brother Thomas Hill.
Throughout his life, Scott engaged passionately with his community through his attendance at both the Huguley Church of the Nazarene and Lanett Church of the Nazarene, enveloping himself in faith and fellowship. His profession and associative work reflected a man committed not just to the tasks at hand but to the people whom those roles served.
As much as Scott loved his family and his work, he equally reveled in his many interests and hobbies. Riding his motorcycle along open roads provided a sense of freedom and adventure. A dedicated University of Alabama fan, Scott's enthusiasm for his team only paralleled his admiration for NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt. Memories of Scott humming to old country tunes will remain a comforting and warm presence in his loved ones' hearts. His moments spent deep-sea fishing, cruising with his sister and brother-in-law, and visiting his brother in California were cherished episodes of a life well-lived.
Scott Hill was the embodiment of kindness, a magnet for friendships, and an endlessly interesting soul. His departure leaves an unfillable void in the lives of those who knew him, yet his spirit—imbued with warmth, generosity, and undeniable charm—will continue to influence the hearts and paths of his family and friends. As the sun sets on Scott's time with us, we hold close the light of his being that never ceased to shine.
