Jennifer Roberts Lasseter Obituary

Jennifer Roberts Lasseter, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2024, in Birmingham, Alabama, at the age of 64. Born on June 3, 1959, in Langdale, Alabama, Jennifer was a guiding light of strength and love to all who knew her. Her life was a testament to her adventurous spirit, loving nature, and unwavering faith.

Jennifer, affectionately known as Jennifer to her friends and family, was a devoted lunchroom manager at Valley High School and W.F. Burns Middle School. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to her faith as a long-standing member of the Langdale Nazarene Church until its closure. Jennifer's presence in the community was a source of comfort and joy to many.

She was a woman of many interests, known for her bossy yet endearing demeanor and her fighting spirit. Jennifer found solace and pleasure in her crafts, ceramics, and puzzles. Her love for dragonflies and hummingbirds was evident in the way she carefully tended to her garden, creating a haven for these delicate creatures. A huge Elvis fan, Jennifer's passion for his music and persona brought her much joy.

Jennifer's life was beautifully complex, filled with the love of her children, Chris Lasseter and Elaine (Anthony) Lasseter, and her adored grandchildren, Shyanne, Kimberly, Jessica, Andrew, Jonathan, and Savanna. Her sister, Norma Roberts Whitley, along with numerous extended family members, friends, and her beloved canine companions, Lucy, Mary Jane, and Chewy, will forever cherish the memories they created with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Chester Roberts and Mary Louise Roberts, and her loving husband, Timothy DeWayne Lasseter. Jennifer's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the courage to face life's challenges head-on.

As we remember Jennifer, we are reminded of the words of Helen Keller: "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Jennifer's spirit and love have indeed become a part of all who were blessed to know her.

Jennifer's life will be celebrated in a manner that honors the joy she brought to the world. Her adventurous soul, loving heart, and faith-filled life have left an indelible mark on her family and community. As we bid farewell to Jennifer Roberts Lasseter, we take comfort in knowing that her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us for generations to come.
