Jesse Gray Howard III

Jesse Gray Howard III, 70, passed away on June 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Gray was born on August 25, 1954, to the late Jesse Gray Howard, Jr. and Ruth Patrick Howard in Monroeville, Alabama.

He was beloved in his community and never met a stranger anywhere he went. His laugh was infectious and his love of golf legendary.

He served First Baptist Church Lanett faithfully as a Deacon for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, along with his father-in-law, Jack Henderson, and mother-in law, Lucy Henderson.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Henderson Howard; sons, Jesse Gray Howard, IV (Emily), and Zachary Henderson Howard (Carma Chase); grandchildren, Megan Green (Thrasher), Connor Grayson Howard, and Caleb Young Howard; great-grandchildren, Harper Marie Mead, Tristen George Mead, and Clara Mae Green; brother, Kenneth Patrick Howard (Kelli); nieces, Tammy Henderson (Joel Wood), Jordan Newman (T.J.), and Holly Elliott (Brandon); great-nieces, Scarlett and Ava Newman and Emma and Zoey Elliott.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 2 p.m.(EST) at First Baptist Church Lanett, 701 South 6th Street, Lanett, AL, 36863.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First Baptist Church Lanett or a charity of choice in Gray's name.
