Jimmie "Sue" Nolan, a beacon of love and laughter, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, at the age of 87 in Lanett, AL. Born on April 14, 1937, to the late Mr. and Mrs. JM Strickland, in Langdale, AL, Sue was a cherished member of the community and will be fondly remembered for her adventurous spirit and infectious humor. Sue's life was marked by her dedication to her family and her faith. She served as a Sunday school teacher for over four decades, touching the lives of many with her wisdom and kindness. Her professional life as a secretary in the insurance industry was characterized by the same level of commitment and excellence, she showed in all her endeavors. Survivors include her loving daughters, LeAnne (Bud) Knowles of Valley, AL, and Lisa Smith of Lanett, AL; her adored grandchildren, Susan Taylor Smith, Brooke (Bryant) Lumpkin, Zach (Joni) Clay, Jared Clay, Jeremy Clay, and Jenna (Evan) Chambers, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Hunter Nolan Clay, Eliza Anne Lumpkin, Catherine Lucy Chambers, Marley Alise Clay, and Lydia Belle Lumpkin. Sue also leaves behind her special caregiver, Lawanda Robinson, who provided unwavering support and care. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Lee Nolan and her parents. Sue's culinary talents, passion for traveling, and joy for thrifting were just a few of the interests that brought her and others so much pleasure. To know Sue was to experience the warmth of her loving nature, the thrill of her adventurous soul, and the delight of her funny anecdotes. Her legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Services for Sue will be held, Monday, September 16, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. (EST) at Oakwood Cemetery located in Lanett, AL, 36863. Interment will immediately follow the service. The family will be accepting friends at, Johnson Brown - Service Funeral Home, 3700 20th Street, Valley, AL, 36854, from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30 P.M.
