Jimmy Ray "Ray Ray" Carlisle Obituary

 

Jimmy Ray Carlisle (RayRay) age 59, was called home to the gates of Heaven on Tuesday the  13th of April 2021 at UAB hospital. He was the only child of Hulan and Opal Carlisle, born in Lafayette, AL. on the 2nd of November 1961. He attended Valley High School where he played football. He later attended a year of technical school at Southern Union. His first job was at West Point Stevens, Fairfax where he worked for almost 30 years until they closed, where he met several of his life long friends especially Anthony and D.C. Carter whom we have loved and become apart of the family. He was a beloved and long time employee at Glovis America in West Point, GA. where he met his railcrew family. He loved spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews and watching all the shenanigans that come along when everyone gathered. He also loved fishing, bulldozing, operating any other farm equipment, watching westerns, Alabama football, and most importantly dipping Copenhagen Snuff.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 23 years, Sabrina Carlisle (Long), his parents, Hulan and Opal Carlisle. Mother-In-Love, Brenda Hill, Father-In-Love, Melvin Long Sr. Sister-In-Love, Dana Long Barajas (Ignacio),  Sister-In-Love, Jennifer Black (Sidney), Sister-In-Love, Angela Blackmon (Craig).  Brother-In-Love, Lee Bo Long (Stacy Lowery), Brother-In-Love, Todd Hill (Anisa), Brother-In-Love, Jim Hill (Stacey). His children, Samantha Carlisle, Mayci Meigs-Carlisle, Jared Carlisle, Katie Meigs-Carlisle (Steve-O Reaves), Sydney Carlisle. His grandchildren, Lexi Chambers, Mckenzie Johnson, Landon Gross, Sadie Morris, Sophie Morris, Mason Meigs. His nieces and nephews which he also considered to be his kids, Dakotah Long (Armando Torres), Kimmie Barajas, Annie Long (Jeremy Thorton), Gabi Barajas, Nacho Barajas, Anthony Long, Nick Hill, Nick Barajas, Ben Hill, and many others. Also, his 2 pound companion, JoJo Monster.

He was preceded by his paternal grandparents, Fulton and Velma Carlisle, and his maternal grandparents, Loney and Velma Kent, Father-In-Love, William Thomas Hill, Mother-In-Love Priscilla Long.

Visitation will be 5-7p.m. (EST) Friday, April 16th, 2021 at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, AL.

Funeral services will be 11a.m. (EST) Saturday, April 17th, 2021 at Osanippa Baptist Church in Huguley, Al.
