John Kenneth "Ken" Miles

John Kenneth “Ken” Miles, age 75, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Miles was born in Langdale, Alabama on April 24, 1946, to the late Herbert Elbert Miles and Pauline Gann Wesson.  He was also preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Gail Brabham Miles, and his brothers, Bill and Jeffrey.

Mr. Miles proudly served his country in the United States Army where he was a member of the Army’s Elite Special Operations Team – the Green Berets.

He was named as a special honorary deputy in February of 1995 by Chambers County Sheriff Sid Lockhart.  He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trade Union in Atlanta, Georgia in 1977.

He was a member of Fairfax First Baptist Church in Valley, Alabama.

He is survived by his children, Todd Dewayne Miles and his wife, Katherine, Tiffany Gail Miles Hudson, brother, Herbert Frederick Miles and his wife, Linda, Neal Miles and his wife, Janice, Joseph P. Wesson; grandchildren, John Irby Hudson, IV, Celeste Miles Haines (Travis), Alexis Faith (Devin) Keith, Aubyn Guice, Macie Merrit Miles, Grace Miles, Hunter Casey Pitman, Landon Pitman, Charlie Craft, Callie Craft; great-grandchildren, Laiken, Keith, Mazzie Keith, Brunson Haines; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 2:00P.M. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with interment in Cusseta Cemetery.  His family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00P.M. EST until the service hour.  The Reverends Mark McGee and B.J. Crenshaw officiating.
