Today we celebrate the life of Johnny Walls, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, who left us on February 24, 2025, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Georgia. Born on June 26, 1967, in Newnan, Georgia, Johnny was known for his intelligence, friendliness, and remarkable handyman skills, especially when it involved racing and cars.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sandy Walls; his children, Lee Walls and Brooke Walls; and his cherished grandchildren, Trinity Overton and Shalynn Overton. Also mourning his loss is his uncle, Gary Walls (Donita), alongside numerous cousins. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Ethel Walls; his son-in-law, Dean Williams; his grandparents, Frank and Jessie Mae Walls and Lenice Brock; and his uncle, Frank Walls.
A lifelong fan of dirt track racing, Johnny turned his passion into a career, known for his expertise as a mechanic at several tracks and his love for building motors. His enthusiasm for racing extended to his personal life as well, with frequent visits to car shows alongside his son, sharing a bond not only through blood but through mutual interests.
As a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church, Johnny's faith was a stronghold in his life, providing him comfort and community.
We remember Johnny Walls as a man of great character: intelligent and friendly, always prepared to lend a hand or share his vast knowledge of automobiles. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will race on in the memories cherished by all.
Funeral services for Johnny will be held on Thursday, February 27th, 2025, at 2:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Pastor Jason May will officiate. Johnny’s family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
