Joyce Webster Dennis, a beloved educator and lifelong resident of Alabama, passed away peacefully in Valley, Alabama on October 17, 2023. Born on February 3, 1932, in Chambers County, Alabama, Joyce lived a life full of love, laughter, and learning.
Joyce was a career educator, dedicating over 30 years of her life to teaching the youth of Alabama. She retired in 1994, leaving behind a legacy of countless students whose lives she had touched and shaped. Her passion for education was evident in her dedication to her students and her commitment to their success.
Beyond her professional life, Joyce was known for her friendly demeanor, thoughtful nature, and kind heart. She had a love for reading, often losing herself in a good book. She also enjoyed shoe shopping, always on the lookout for the perfect pair to add to her collection. Joyce was a devoted Auburn University fan, cheering on the Tigers at every opportunity. Her love for cats was well-known, and she was rarely seen without a kitty by her side.
Joyce loved the outdoors, often spending her free time exploring local parks and nature trails. She found joy in the simple things in life, like a beautiful sunset or the sound of birds chirping in the morning. Her love for nature was infectious, inspiring those around her to appreciate the beauty in the world.
Joyce is survived by her grandson, William Hammond (Bailey). Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her love, wisdom, and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Darrah-Kay Dennis.
Joyce Webster Dennis lived a life full of passion, kindness, and dedication. She was a beacon of light in her community, inspiring others with her unwavering positivity and love for life. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched, both in the classroom and beyond. She will be remembered as a loving family member, a dedicated educator, and a friend to all.
Funeral services for Joyce will be held on Wednesday, October 25th, 2023 at 2:00 PM (CDT) at the graveside in Reeltown Cemetery in Notasulga, Alabama. The Reverend Randal Myers will officiate.
