Judy “Mawmaw” Young Carnley, 84 of Valley, AL passed away Saturday April 04, 2026.
She was born on December 18, 1941, to the late Harold and Mildred Young. She was a member of West End Baptist. She served for over 25 years to Valley Haven School.
Mawmaw was a precious soul who made everyone she encountered feel special. She loved the Lord and always saw on the “brighter side of things.” She always woke with “This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it” Psalms 118:24. She loved cooking for her family, baking, canning, gardening, and crafting. Spending time with her family always brought the biggest smile to her face. She will be greatly missed by all.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mildred Young, her beloved husband Frank Carnley, her daughter Susan Carnley, and her sister Joan Pike.
Judy is survived by her daughters Carole (Russ) Hilderbrand, Patricia (Jody) Andrews, Lisa(Stacey) Langley, her grandchildren Amanda (Matt) White, Mitchell Lott, Haley (Josh) Elliott, Ty(Greenly) Langley, Kaydie (Ryan) Earnest, Kendall Andrews, Drew (Carly) Langley, her great-grandchildren Kenley and Dawson Elliott, Beau and Briggs White, Evie Marie Lott, Baylor and Anna Kate Earnest, Jazmine, Andrew, and Nova Lee Langley, her brother Richard ( Susan) Young. And a host of nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
Funeral services for Judy will be held on Wednesday, April 8th, 2026, at 11:00 AM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Shawmut Cemetery. Pastor Steve York will officiate. Judy’s family will receive friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM (EDT).
