Ken Smith Obituary

Ken Smith, known affectionately to all as Ken, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024, in Valley, Alabama, at the age of 57. Born on June 10, 1966, in Lakeland, Florida, Ken was a man whose life was characterized by his creative spirit, friendly demeanor, and an unwavering love for his family.

Ken's journey began as the cherished son of Gene and Dorothy Smith, who preceded him in death, along with his beloved grandparents, Lula and Ocie Mason. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Smith, and his children, whom he loved dearly: Zach Clay (Joni), Jared Clay, Jeremy Clay (Stephanie), and Taylor McDaniel (Corey). Ken's joy was multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Hunter and Marley Clay, who brought him immeasurable happiness. He also leaves behind his dear aunt, Betty Ruth Mason, and his sister-in-law, LeAnne Knowles (Bud), along with his adored nieces, Brooke and Jenna.

Ken's professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and a passion for his hobbies. He found solace and joy in the art of woodworking, creating pieces that were not only functional but also infused with his creative touch. An outdoorsman at heart, Ken relished the times he spent hunting and fishing, embracing the tranquility and beauty of nature.

A lifelong fan of the Auburn Tigers and the Atlanta Braves, Ken's enthusiasm for his teams was infectious, and he enjoyed sharing this passion with his friends and family. His love for dogs was equally profound, and the companionship of his furry friends provided him with great comfort and joy throughout his life.

Above all, Ken's faith was the cornerstone of his existence. He loved his Lord with fervor and grace, a testament to his kind and generous spirit. His family was his sanctuary, and he nurtured each relationship with care, instilling values of love, respect, and integrity.

Ken's legacy is one of warmth, creativity, and friendship. He was a source of light in the lives of those who knew him, and his memory will continue to inspire and guide his loved ones. His absence will be deeply felt, but the memories he created will be cherished and celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we bid farewell to Ken, we take solace in the knowledge that his life was lived to the fullest, surrounded by love, laughter, and the simple pleasures that he held so dear. His story is not one of sorrow, but of a life beautifully lived and a soul that will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
