Kenneth "Kenny" Bassett Obituary

Kenneth "Kenny" Bassett, a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2023, in LaGrange, Georgia. Born on September 30, 1958, in Valley, Alabama, Kenny was known for his funny, handy, and loving nature, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Kenny was a hardworking and talented individual who found great joy in driving an 18-wheeler on the open road. His love for vehicles extended to his exceptional skills as a mechanic, where he could work on almost any car or truck. This passion for all things automotive made him a valuable resource and friend to many in his community.

In addition to his work, Kenny enjoyed time spent with his beloved grandson, Jayden Bassett. Kenny's love for his family extended to his faithful canine companion, "Honey," who brought him endless joy and companionship.

Kenny was also a proud and avid fan of the University of Alabama football team. His enthusiasm for the sport was infectious, and he could often be found cheering on his favorite team with friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Morgan Bassett and Martha Ann Basset,  brothers, David Bassett and Jerry Bassett, and his brother-in-law, Mike Ussery.

Kenny is survived by his children, Kelly Bassett and Chris Bassett; his grandson, Jayden Bassett; his siblings, Lisa Rider (Daymond), Shirley Ussery, Steve Bassett, and Wanda Moore (Phil); a host of nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion, "Honey."

Kenny will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In remembering Kenny, we celebrate a life filled with laughter, love, and dedication to his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service was held for Kenny on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley with Elizabeth and Daymond Rider, Alex and Trenton Rider, and Shirley Ussery. Rest in peace Kenny Bassett.
