Kenneth L. Johnson

Mr. Kenneth L. Johnson, 83, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home.

Mr. Johnson was born in Langdale, Alabama on June 28, 1937, to the late Johnnie Leroy Johnson and Bessie Belyeu Johnson.  He was also preceded in death by his wife Barbara Jo Johnson; son, Spencer Johnson; grandson, Matt Bryant and numerous family and extended family members.

Kenneth was a graduate of Valley High School.  After his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force.  Upon his return to the Valley, he worked in the textile mills and then accepted a job with the Interstate Valley Telephone Company where he stayed until his retirement.

Kenneth was a member of the Beulah United Methodist Church. 

He loved reading books, working on crossword puzzles, working Sudoku puzzles, hunting, and fishing.

He is survived by his children, Kathy (Mike) Snowden, Joel (Delana) Upchurch; sister, Brenda Carmichael; grandchildren, Jeff (Laura) Snowden, Adam (Paula) Snowden, Jake (Tiffany) Hudmon; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in his memory to the Beulah United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held for Kenneth on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 11:00A.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10:00A.M. EDT until the service hour.
