Lala Sides

     Mrs. Lala Sides, age 98, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Thursday, November 5th, 2020 at LaFayette Extended Care in LaFayette, Alabama. She was born on June 16th, 1922 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama.

     Mrs. Sides is survived by her children, Nellie Whaley, Ann (Gary) Miller, Donald Sides, Tommy (Donna) Sides, and Donna (Larry) Wingo; her grandchildren, Barry (Susie) Whaley, Tony (Debra) Whaley, Sherry (Thomas) Burns, Randy (Sherri) Miller, Marsha Sides, James Robert Sides, James Donald “Don” Sides, Jr., Tonya Burkhalter, Kimberly Michelle (Stacey) Morris, Hollie (Greg) Boddie, Tabitha M. (Shane) Anglin, Toby (Amber) Sides, Shon (Tania) Wingo, and Jonathan Wingo; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Mary Davis.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, James Douglas Sides; siblings, Hazel Austin, Irma Stewart, Betty Stewart, Lena Pike, Claude Lee Stewart, Jr., Robert Stewart, and Joe Stewart; four grandchildren.

     Mrs. Sides attended Riverview Pentecostal Church of God.  She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and needlework. She was a wonderful cook and was a precious and loving mother.

     The family would like to extend a special thank you to Debra Whaley for the loving and compassionate care she provided.

     Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7th, 2020 at 3:00 PM (EST) at the graveside in Langdale Cemetery.  Pastor Steve York will officiate. Due to social gathering restrictions, visitation will be private.
