Laura Osborne Obituary

We come together today to celebrate the life of Laura Osborne, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who passed away peacefully at her residence in Lanett, Alabama, on April 6, 2024. Born on December 8, 1938, in Beulah, Alabama, Laura's journey through life was marked by her loving nature, her unwavering faith, and her kind spirit.

Laura's life was a testament to the power of love and dedication. She was a devoted partner to her husband, Henry Osborne, for an incredible 62 years, and together they built a family founded on warmth and care. Her daughters, Vanessa Sessions, married to Ronald, and Vicki Waldrep, married to Matt, were the light of her life, and she instilled in them the values of compassion and strength. Laura's joy was multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren, Shanna Hunter (Adam), Stephanie Edmonds (Kevin), Sydney Hale (Matthew), and Reese McClerren (Parker), and her great-grandchildren, Kip Hunter, Brycen Edmonds, Tucker Edmonds, and Brennan Hale, who will carry her legacy forward. Laura's siblings, Lynn McClain (Linda), Janet Boswell, and Mary Bain, shared in the many cherished moments and memories that painted Laura's life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lura McClain, who undoubtedly laid the foundation for the remarkable woman she became.

Professionally, Laura dedicated over 60 years to the noble calling of nursing. Her commitment to caring for others extended beyond her professional life and into her community, where she was a revered member of Shawmut Church of the Nazarene. Laura's faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and she was known as a Prayer Warrior, always ready to offer spiritual support and guidance to those around her.

Laura's interests and hobbies brought joy not only to her life but also to those who knew her. She found serenity while sitting on her front porch swing, where she could be found singing and watching the hummingbirds flit about. Laura's biscuits were legendary, and her love for dance was evident to anyone who saw her move to the music. Her adventurous spirit shone through in her love for camping and traveling with her family, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Those who knew Laura would describe her as a beacon of love and a vessel of faith. Her kindness was felt by everyone she encountered, and her presence was a source of comfort and joy. Laura's life was a beautiful reflection of her beliefs, and she touched the hearts of many with her gentle and giving nature.

As we say goodbye to Laura Osborne, we also celebrate the profound impact she had on the lives of those she touched. Her spirit will continue to live on through her family, her friends, and the countless lives she enriched through her compassion and care. Laura's memory will be cherished, and her legacy will endure, a reminder of a life well-lived and a woman dearly loved.
