Lila Carmen (Rollins) Bleigh

Lila Carmen Bleigh, known affectionately as Lila to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, in Opelika, Alabama. Born on June 28, 1975, Lila's vibrant spirit and infectious laughter was a joy throughout her 49 years of life.

Lila's journey began in Opelika, where she was born to her loving parents, Steve and Judy Rollins. She grew up alongside her brother, Shannon Rollins, in a home filled with love and laughter. Lila's early life in Alabama laid the foundation for her compassionate nature and her unwavering dedication to her family.

After graduating from Valley High School, Lila's passion for caring for others led her to pursue a career in nursing. Her hard work and dedication were recognized with a nursing scholarship, from Valley High School. Once completing her LPN courses, Lila went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Nursing which earned her the title and knowledge of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Lila spent the majority of her career working with the elderly, a testament to her kind-heartedness and her innate ability to connect with those in her care.

Lila's life was enriched by her significant other, Michael Smith, and their two sons, Mac Bleigh (Paeton) and Michael Bleigh (Alexis). She was a doting grandmother to David Layne Bleigh and Hadley Lynne Mae Bleigh, whose lives will forever be touched by her love and guidance. Lila's family circle extended to her parents, Steve and Judy Rollins, brother, Shannon Rollins (Elaine), her nephew, Joshua Rollins (Ava), her niece, Hannah Bradley (Alexander), and her great-nieces and great-nephew, as well as her uncles, aunts, cousins, and a multitude of friends who all felt the warmth of her caring embrace.

Lila's zest for life was evident to all who met her. Her love for cruising and meeting new people showcased her adventurous spirit. She had the rare gift of being able to strike up a conversation with anyone, and her ability to "talk the horns off a billy goat" was legendary. Lila lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with enthusiasm and an open heart. Those who knew Lila would describe her as loving, kind, and adventurous.

She was a woman who never hesitated to lend a helping hand, and her presence was a source of comfort and happiness to many.

Lila's legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. As we bid farewell to Lila Carmen Bleigh, we celebrate a life lived with boundless love and an unwavering commitment to others.

Lila's final days were spent in the town she loved, surrounded by the people who meant the world to her.

Her life's journey may have come to an end in the same place it began, but the impact of her journey will be felt far and wide for generations to come.

A visitation for Lila will be held, Friday, February 28, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. (EST) at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, Alabama.
