Margaret Groover Breedlove

     Mrs. Margaret Groover Breedlove, age 98, of West Point, Georgia passed away on Sunday, June 28th, 2020 at the Florence Hand Home in LaGrange, Georgia. She was born on February 19th, 1922 in Lanett, Alabama.

     Mrs. Breedlove is survived by her children, Ann Wilson, William E. Breedlove, Jr., and Margaret Kee; her grandchildren, Paul (Kelly) Haralson, Laura Haralson, William C. (Kayla) Breedlove, Andrew (Susanne) Kee, and Melanie (Travis) Whittaker; her ten great-grandchildren.

     In 2018 she was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, William Edward Breedlove, who she married on August 19th, 1945 in Lanett, Alabama. She was also preceded in death by her aunt, Etta Groover; her brother, Ralph Groover; and her sister, June Randall.

     Mrs. Breedlove owned and operated Breedlove’s Jewelers along with her husband, William, in West Point, Georgia for twenty-seven years. She was an active member of the West Point Pilot Club and the Wedgewood Garden Club where she served in various leadership positions including president. She and her husband were avid bridge players, which she continued to play into her nineties. She enjoyed viewing the flowers, birds, and fall colors of Callaway Gardens and in her earlier years picnicking with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling to visit and spend time with family members.

     A private family funeral service will be held.
