Marilyn B. Duke, 76, of Valley, Alabama, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, in Opelika, Alabama at East Alabama Medical Center.
Marilyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her devoted husband, Johnny P. Duke; her children, Courtney M. Duke and J. Caleb (Aimee) Duke; her siblings, Phillip K. Lambert and Peggy L. Bowden; her cherished grandchildren: Tyler D. Weldon, Ethan B. Weldon, Shaniya N. Feliciano, Coleman L. Oliver, John L. Duke, and Joanni M. Duke; and her beloved great-grandchild, Brantley B. Weldon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Radford Lambert and Lessie B. Lambert; her aunt, Mary Loyce Butler; and her brothers, J. Terrell Lambert and Willis D. Lambert.
Originally from Newell, Alabama, Marilyn was an avid reader and a dedicated homemaker. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. Marilyn was known for her sharp mind and kind heart, and she loved solving crossword puzzles, completing word searches, and sharing her thoughts on Facebook—often late at night, when her posts brought smiles to many.
Her warmth, wit, and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services for Marilyn will be private. Pastor Steve Dempsey will officiate.
