Martha "Sue" Steele Obituary

     Martha “Sue” Steele passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 21st, 2026,

     She was born on March 10th, 1951, in Warm Springs, Georgia.

     Sue was known for her remarkable strength. Being only 4’11” she was the tallest in the room. She taught her children and grandchildren the value of life and how to never take anything for granted.

     Sue is survived by her husband of 50 years, Thomas Steele; and her three children, Christy Steele, Brian Steele, and Randy (Marty) Moody. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kayla (Dylan) Ogle, TJ (Ashley) Steele, Lanee (Brandon) Cox, Ginger Steele, Danielle (Camron) Carroll, Toby Steele, Paisley Steele, and Kendal (Olivia) Moody. She also has eleven great grandchildren and many other family member s and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mildred Ingram; and her son, David Scott Moody.

     Sue never met a stranger, in her younger years she loved to garden, she was the green thumb of the family. Her favorite flowers were roses and daisies. She loved drinking her morning coffee and watching “The Price is Right” or “Wheel of Fortune”.

     Funeral services for Sue will be held on Friday, July 3rd, 2026, at 10:00 AM (EDT) at the graveside in Johnson Memorial Gardens. Pastor Bill Bryan will officiate. No visitation is planned. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to her husband or daughter.
