Mary Julia "Judy" Shaw

     Mrs. Mary Julia “Judy” Shaw, age 89, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021 at the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home in Valley. She was born on December 24th, 1931 in Shawmut, Alabama to the late James and Ruby Oliver.

     Mrs. Shaw is survived by her son, O’Neal (Ann) Shaw of Valley; grandchildren, Amy (Kelly) Thompson of Valley, Libby Wood of Valley, and Melissa (Adam) Roberts of Lanett, Alabama; eleven great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren with two on the way; sister, Joyce Huff; niece, Patty Ownby; nephew, Fred (Dinah) Huff.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Shaw; and brother-in-law, Robert Huff. Mrs. Shaw was a member of Shawmut United Methodist Church. In years past, she was very active in several area churches where she served as a musician and soloist. She loved her miniature poodles and enjoyed clogging. She worked for 45 years in West Point Pepperell’s Shawmut Mill and then for the Lanett City School System for over 15 years until her retirement.

     Due to social gathering restrictions, services will be private. Reverend Fred Huff will officiate.

     Mrs. Shaw will be available for friends to come by and pay respects Friday, February 5th, 2021 from 1:00 until 6:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
