Michael Clyde Doss

     Michael Clyde Doss, known affectionately as Michael to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at his residence in Valley, Alabama, on May 22, 2024. Born on July 14, 1950, in Perkin, Illinois, Michael's journey through life was marked by his warm spirit, his dedication to his loved ones, and his unwavering sense of humor.

     Michael proudly served his country as a veteran of the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that shaped his character and his commitment to service. After his military tenure, he channeled his skills into a successful career as a mechanic, specializing in transmission repair. His work was not just a job but a testament to his ability to solve problems and help others keep moving forward.

     Those who knew Michael will remember him as a man with a great sense of humor, always ready with a joke to lighten the mood. His laughter was contagious, and his presence could brighten even the gloomiest of days. Michael's friendly demeanor meant he never met a stranger, and his ability to connect with people was truly remarkable.

     An avid fan of NASCAR and Auburn football, Michael could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, sharing his passion and enthusiasm with anyone who would join him. His love for these sports was just one of the many ways he enjoyed spending his time, creating memories with friends and family alike.

     He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter with his wife, Rhonda Doss; children, Shannon Arnold, Michael Doss (Rosiland), Angelia Cox (Jon), Jessie Casey (Gina), Jamie Casey (Jason), and David Doss (Danielle). His life was further enriched by the joy of his 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Michael's siblings, Melinda Vasquez (Gary), Mark Weiland (Raeann), Ron Weiland (Sandy), and Judy Dahlem (Dave), will fondly remember their brother's unwavering support and the countless moments of joy they shared. He was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Allen Doss, his brother, Jim Doss, and his sister, Janice Woods, who have now welcomed him into eternal peace.

     As we bid farewell to Michael Clyde Doss, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart full of love, and a legacy that will continue to shine in the lives of those he touched. May he rest in peace, knowing that his story is one of joy, connection, and an enduring sense of humor that will never be forgotten.

     Funeral services for Michael will be held on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024 at 2:30 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Johnson Memorial Gardens. Pastor Rusty Letson will officiate. Michael’s family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:30 PM (EDT) until the service hour at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
