Mr. Larry E. Smith, 81, a resident of Valley, AL passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the Bethany House Hospice in Auburn. A memorial service will be held at the Langdale United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 3:00 PM EST. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 3:00 PM EST prior to the service. A complete obituary will be announced by Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home of Valley.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 60 years Phyllis P. Smith; Children: Mickey Smith (Bobbie); Kim Hill (Bobby); Lisa Hodnett (Hootie); Matt Smith (Tracy); Heath Smith (Marla). Grandchildren: Whitney Bradley, Blake Bradley (Kira); Lauren Ogle (Dustin); Hunter Hodnett (Caitlin); Jordan Smith, Drew Smith, Seth Smith, Justin Smith (Jessica Gessellman); Lindsey Carmichael (Evan Monson); Sarah Beth Smith, Nick Smith, Matt Hill (Jennifer); Holly Dougal (Jonathan). Great Grandchildren: Fisher Ogle, Aubrey Ann Ogle, Slade Keith, Jacob Robertson, Tyler Monson, Skyler Hill, Lane Hill, Lily Hill, Cooper Dougal, Ansley Dougal, Brooklyn Hewitt (Rafa); Gavin O’Barr, Skyler O’Barr, Chaelyn Fuller. sister: Betty Carole Duffey (Charles). Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and wife Sinie Smith.
