Mr. Raymond McLendon

Mr. Raymond McLendon, 80, a resident of Huguley, AL passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 11:00 AM EST from Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, Alabama with Rev. Mark McGee officiating.  Burial will follow in Johnson Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM EST at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Angie McLendon; children, Phaedra Childers (David), Medea Artolachipe (Michelle), Sommer Andrews-Abrams; grandchildren, Anna McLendon, Adam Childers, Zoey Andrews; brother, Ronnie McLendon; sister, Lorene McLendon; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Andrew & Bonnie Dyess McLendon; son, Jeff McLendon and two sisters, Jerlene Adkison and Martha McLendon. 

Mr. McLendon was born in Coffee County, Alabama on May 16, 1941.  He had previously worked at Food Giant Grocery, NOK of LaGrange and was currently working at Marvin’s Building Materials in Valley.  He was of the Baptist Faith.  He loved to fish and loved his family including his adoring grandchildren. 

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Fairfax First Baptist Church or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. 

Those attending are asked to practice social distancing and wear facial masks.
