Mr. Ricky R. "Sugar Bear" Dyess Obituary

Mr. Ricky R. Dyess (Sugar Bear), 65 of Beulah, AL and the Lake Harding Community , passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL.

Mr. Dyess was born in West Point, GA on December 26, 1953 to the late Junior R. Dyess and Gwendolyn Senn Dyess. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Dyess.

He is survived by his lifelong companion, Marsha Spears, who he lovingly referred to as Shorty, his brother, Gregg (Betty) Dyess and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dyess was an accomplished truck driver, both over the road and in the logging industry.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the lake, grilling, and boat riding. He loved his dogs and watching westerns.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany House Hospice, Auburn, AL

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) Saturday, November 23, 2019 from the graveside at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett with Rev. Eddie Striblin officiating.
