Mr. Shelly Wayne Hinson Obituary

Shelly Wayne Hinson, 76, passed peacefully at his home in Lanett on May 14, 2020 following a lengthy illness.

Born in Florence, Alabama, and raised in Columbus, Georgia, Wayne served in the U.S. Air Force and had a long career in insurance sales.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita, his parents James Shelley and Clara B., his brother Donald and step-son Greg Ivey. He is survived by his brother, Sherman, and sister, Debbie Blanton.

He was a loving father to Rhonda Vanhaerents, Marilyn Valentine, Judy Coleman, step-daughter Lisa West and step-son Garry Ivey and blessed with 8 grandchildren: Stephen Cheek, Noah West, Miranda Wood, Jenna Isenhour, Kimberly Jackson, Trisha Davidson, Nicholas and Parker Valentine, and ten great-grandchildren.

Wayne was an avid sports fan and a fantastic story teller. He attended First Baptist Church in Lanett.
