Mrs. Betty Torrance Stewart Obituary

 

 

Mrs. Betty Torrance Stewart, age 88, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Saturday, August 29th, 2020 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.

Mrs. Stewart was born in Redlands, California on April 21st, 1932 to the late Arus Ralph Torrance and Rena Hill Torrance.  She was also preceded in death by her husband USAF Retired TSGT Roy G. Stewart, Sr.; daughter, Deanna L. Bleier; son, Steve Stewart.

She attended the University of Southern California.  She served as the past president 1963 -1964 of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Redlands, California Chapter and was a member of the Riverside, California Car Club.

She was an avid University of Alabama football fan and enjoyed NASCAR racing.

She loved the outdoors and nature.  Each year she would raise baby deer or fawns.

Mrs. Stewart loved to garden and enjoyed her flowers each spring and summer, especially her yellow roses.

She is survived by her children, Deborah (James Smith) A. Stewart, Roy G. (Sherri) Stewart, Allen Ralph Stewart, Angelica Nicole Royal, Tiffany Anne Chambers; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her dogs, Bobbie and Easy; and her parakeet Larry.

Due to social gathering restrictions, funeral services will be private.

Flowers will be accepted or the family requests that memorials be made in her memory to the Lanett Congregational Christian Church or to the Chattahoochee Humane Society.
