Mrs. Ellene Rice

Ellene Rice, age 95, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021, at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.

Mrs. Rice was born in Abanda, Alabama on November 26, 1925. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Marion Rice; her sisters, Sara Mae Yarbrough, Janelle Stodghill, Kathleen Lockhart, Shirley Allen.

Mrs. Rice was a member of Valley Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school and pre-school for over 60 years.  She also served on the Hostess Committee for many years.

She loved to travel and work in her flower gardens.

She is survived by her brother Robert Yarbrough, Fairfax; nephew, Lee Rice, Lanett.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 11:00A.M. EDT in Resthaven Cemetery. The Reverend Nathan Lawrence officiating.  Her family will be receiving friends in the cemetery Wednesday prior to the graveside starting at 10:30A.M. EDT.

Flowers will be accepted or the family requests that memorials be made in her memory to the Valley Baptist Church.
