Mrs. Genell Clark Cochran, age 93, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, February 26th, 2019 at the LaFayette Nursing Home in LaFayette, Alabama.
Mrs. Cochran was born in Camp Hill, Alabama on August 6th, 1925 to the late John Bevelyn Clark and Gertrude Henderson Clark.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Joe Cochran, Sr.; son, John Earl Cochran; sisters, Irene Hart, Janie Clark Dabbs, Adell Cooksey, Annie LaMerle Clark; brothers, John T. Clark, Grady Levi Clark, Wilbur L. Clark; nephews, John Morris Clark, Grady Wayne Clark, Eugene Clark; step-daughter, Cherry Mancil; step-son, Aubrey Cochran; sister-in-law, Nell Clark; nieces, Norma Green, Joyce Pollard.
Mrs. Cochran was a member of the Lanett First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Elizabeth Armstrong Chapter 10.
Mrs. Cochran enjoyed going to the Lanett Senior Center and she loved to play Rook. She was also involved in the Senior Olympics at the senior center. She loved her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Trudy Nell (Wallace) Bates; granddaughter, Tammy (Rodney) Davis; grandsons, Jonathan Bates, John B. (Robin) Cochran, Jason (Polly) Bates; great-granddaughters, Ali (Forest) Crosson, Alexis Bates, Courtney Johnson; great-grandsons, Jake Bates, Corey Cochran, Josh Wiggins, Dalton Bates, Nicholas Bates, Ryan Johnson, Weldon Johnson; step son, Joe (Sharon) Cochran; daughter-in-law, Belinda Cochran; step son-in-law, Steve Mancil; step daughter-in-law, Mary Lee Cochran; several step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren, and two step great-great grandchildren; three very dear nieces, Frances McCain, Sandra Patton, Jane Caldwell; two wonderful nephews; several dear cousins.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 at 3:00P.M. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery. Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00P.M. EST until the service hour.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Bates, Dalton Bates, Nicholas Bates, Corey Cochran, Josh Wiggins, Stan Newton, and Ryan Johnson.
Flowers will be kindly accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to the Lanett First Baptist Church.
