Mrs. Jimmie Dean Mathews Obituary

Mrs. Jimmie Dean Mathews, age 86, a lifelong resident of Valley, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 at the Arbor Springs Nursing Home in Opelika, Alabama.

Mrs. Mathews was born on April 2nd, 1932 in Fairfax, Alabama to the late Luther C. Hill and Effie Bailey Hill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, O.O. “Goat” Mathews.

Mrs. Mathews was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gospel music singings, along with her late husband, Goat Mathews.  She loved her family, her church, and always enjoyed being around other people.

She is survived by her son, Bobby Cannon and his wife, Debra; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Anglin; brothers, Grover Hill and Richard Hill.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 6th, 2018 at 1:00P.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley with interment in Fairfax Cemetery.  The Reverend Tim Bass officiating.  Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 EDT until the service hour.
