Mrs. Joyce Alsabrook Gibson, age 78, of Lanett passed away on Tuesday, May 15th, 2018 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.
Mrs. Gibson was born on February 6th, 1940 in Randolph County, Alabama to the late William Dawson and Fannie Lou Eva Rollins Alsabrook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Willard Gibson; sister, Sue Williams; brothers, Felton Alsabrook, Melton Alsabrook; brother-in-law, Dolphus C. “Buddy” Williams.
Mrs. Gibson retired from the Valley Times Newspaper after 18 years in the circulation department.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching television, and Southern Gospel music.
She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir until her health began to decline.
She is survived by her sons, Randy (Lee Ann) Allen, Roger Allen; daughter, Rhonda Gibson; grandchildren, Robyn (Trent) Cain, Ryan Allen, Kellie Allen, Dustin Allen; great-grandchildren, Maddux and Mason Cain; sister, Glynnis Jackson; sister-in-law, Danna Lindsey Alsabrook; dear friend, Glynda Denton.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19th, 2018 at 2:00P.M. EDT at the Victory Baptist Church with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery. The Reverend Larry Vinson officiating. Her family will be receiving friends at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley on Friday evening from 6:00P.M. EDT until 8:00P.M. EDT.
