Owana Joe Pearce (known as Wannie to her family and friends) passed away Friday, June 12  at the age of 74 at her residence.  

Wannie was born October 30, 1945 in LaFayette, Alabama to Joe Warren and Thelma Glenn. She graduated from Lanett High School in 1964, and was married to Ernie Pearce of Lanett on June 12, 1965. They raised a son, Bill, and a daughter, Audra.  

Wannie is survived by her son, Bill (Laura) Pearce of Alpharetta, Georgia and their two children, Maddie and Thomas;  her daughter, Audra (Joey) Prather of Valley, Alabama and their two children, Gavin (Madison Steele) and Caden. 

Wannie was preceded in death by her father Joe Warren Glenn, mother Thelma Glenn, and husband Ernie Pearce.  

Known as “Maw Maw” to many children, Wannie was  an active member of Lanett United Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching cowboy movies and Auburn football, crocheting, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren.  

Visitation will be held Monday, June 15, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM EST at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, Alabama. A private family service will be held after visitation.  Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Chattahoochee Hospice or Lanett United Methodist Church.
