Mrs. Ruth Naomi Harrelson Horne

Mrs. Ruth Naomi Harrelson Horne, age 88, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

She was born on November 6, 1932, in Dadeville, Alabama to the late Will Harris and the late Lillie Justiss Harris.

She was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God in Cleveland, Tennessee and attended the Grayhill Church of God in LaGrange.  Ruth loved her church and her church family.  She was an ordained minister and would often visit people who were homebound, deliver food to these people, and share her love of the Bible and its teachings with them.  She especially enjoyed the book of Revelations and sharing with others about its teachings.

She loved to travel and go on adventures with Monroe.  They could always be found smiling and laughing with one another.  She was especially fond of the beach, the mountains, and her arts and crafts.

She is survived by her children, Kathy D. Hattaway (Jimmie), Tajuana D. Lowery (Joe), Terry Lee Harrelson (Danita); grandchildren, Michael Hattaway, Selena Hattaway, Brittaney D. Marable (Tyson), Stephen Lowery, Hanna Lowery, Hunter Lowery, Kerry Lee Harrelson, Mallory Harrelson (Justin), Kayla Harrelson; great-grandchildren, Savannah D. Hattaway, Journee D. Lowery, Landon R. Marable, Joy D. Lowery, Melody Lowery, Grace Harrelson, Chloe Harrelson, and Emily Harrelson.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 1:00P.M. EDT at Hillcrest Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley on Wednesday from 11:30A.M. EDT 12:30P.M. EDT.
