Ms. Sara D. Williams (Mom) of Valley, Alabama went to be with Jesus on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Diversicare of Lanett. Ms. Sara was born November 4,1929 in Langdale, Alabama to the late Roy Daniel and the late Effie K. Pitts Daniel. She was a woman of strong faith and attended Langdale Methodist Church. Her friends and family recall that she was always smiling, had a heart of gold and was the hardest working woman ever.
Ms. Sara is survived by a daughter, Millie Smith of Florida; brother, James (Sheila) Daniel of Lafayette; sister, Mary Wickham, Wetumpka Alabama; four grandchildren, Angel Smith of Florida, Jim Knowles of Valley, Steven (Shannon) Smith of Lafayette, Stephanie (Lee) Chappell of Valley, Clayton Smith Jr. of Florida; nine great-grandchildren, Amber Knowles, Christopher Smith, Josh Chappell, Jonathan Chappell, Savana Smith, Jared Chappell, Jackson Chappell, Sam Smith , Noah Smith-Hardman; three great-great-grandchildren, Brianna Knowles, Savannah Knowles, and Bella Cofield, as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tyler (Patricia) Knowles; brother, William Daniel; sister, Betty D. (Charles) Hazel.
Ms. Sara worked in the local mills for many years before becoming a beautician, where she was then self-employed at Riverview Beauty shop. She later became the owner of Bluffton Street Kitchen, Lanett where she served some of the best food ever. Her hobbies included bowling, gardening, and spending time with her family.
A private service will be held Friday, August 21st at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home, Valley, with a graveside service to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Reverend Randall Hamer will be officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 20th from 5 -7 PM EST also at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home. Due to social gathering restrictions, visitation will be limited, and masks are mandatory.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
