Nancy Gauntt Obituary

Nancy Gauntt, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024, in Opelika, Alabama. Born on September 7, 1954, in Langdale, Alabama, Nancy's gentle spirit and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her.

Nancy's life was a testament to the love she had for her family. She is survived by her devoted son, Jacob Wayne Gauntt, and her cherished grandson, Matthew Wayne Gauntt, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her caring brother, Kenneth Phipps (Jan), and her loving sister, Lou Ann Raughton, along with her adored nieces and nephews, Matthew Raughton (Lindsey), Amanda Warner (Charlie), and Haley Phipps, will hold her memory dear. Nancy's legacy of love extends to a host of friends and loved ones who were blessed to know her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Dean Phipps, who instilled in her the values of kindness and compassion that she carried throughout her life.

A faithful member of The Bridge Church, Nancy found great joy and purpose in her involvement with the widow's ministry, where she offered support and companionship to those in need. Her church family and her pastor held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent in fellowship and service.

Nancy's work within the church was a reflection of her unwavering faith. She lived her life as a testament to her love for the Lord, and her actions spoke volumes of her commitment to her faith. Her gentle demeanor and faith-filled life were an inspiration to all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.

An ardent supporter of the University of Alabama, Nancy's enthusiasm for her team was infectious. She could often be found cheering on the Crimson Tide, her spirit and energy lifting those around her. Her love for flowers and gardening was evident in the beautiful oasis she created at her home, a place of tranquility and beauty that reflected her inner grace.

Nancy's role as a loving mother and grandmother was paramount. She nurtured her family with the same tenderness she showed her garden, cultivating a home filled with warmth and affection. Her love knew no bounds, and it is this love that will continue to flourish in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
